2023-08-22 The population of Fortaleza, the capital of Ceará, is benefiting from the renewal of the Viação Urbana fleet, which operates public passenger transport in the city. In 2022, the company acquired 45 units of the Caio Apache Vip city bus, and 15 more vehicles will soon be operating on the Area 1 - Consórcio Transleste lines.
The new units have chassis that meet the Proconve P8/EURO VI gas emission reduction standard, which has been in force in Brazil since January this year. They also comply with the rules of the city`s public transport management bodies.
About the Apache VIP
The Apache Vip buses produced for Fortaleza are 11,360 mm long, with a total capacity for 71 people and three doors with front boarding.
The spacious interior lounge features LED lighting, a floor covered in non-slip material, ergonomic and easy-to-clean passenger seats and a hydraulic driver`s seat with lateral displacement.
USB sockets for charging mobile devices are available for use by passengers throughout the interior lounge. The space`s thermal comfort is guaranteed by air conditioning and windows that block out the sun`s effects.
For full accessibility, all units have an elevator at the central door, reserved seats, a stop button in Braille and an exclusive area for wheelchair users or the visually impaired, accompanied by a guide dog.
For better visibility of the lines, electronic itineraries have been installed in amber at strategic points on the body. They also have capability for radios, micro-cameras, monitors, electronic turnstiles and validators, as well as a Wi-Fi system.
