SÃO LUÍS WILL HAVE A FLEET OF TWENTY NEW BUSES CAIO APACHE VIP

2024-07-31 Viação Estrela, which is part of the Central Consortium and operates in São Luís (MA), has acquired twenty new Apache Vip Caio buses, in their fifth version, with Mercedes-Benz chassis and Euro VI engines, which reduce the emission of pollutants into the atmosphere by around 75%.

The bus company continues to invest in renewing its fleet with the aim of improving the quality of service to the population of the capital of Maranhão, with new modern and comfortable buses.

Viação Estrela has a fleet of approximately 150 buses, 80% of which are Caio. In addition to São Luís, the company also operates in the Itaqui Bacanga region, which is home to major companies such as Vale do Rio Doce, Alumar and Porto do Itaqui.

Apache Vip V Mercedes-Benz chassis

The fifth generation Apache Vip Caio is 12.565 meters long, has a total capacity of 82 passengers and is built on an OF-1721 L/59 chassis (Mercedes-Benz).

Each unit is equipped with a semi-automatic elevator in the central door, on the right-hand side of the body; reserved seats for people with disabilities (PwD), reduced mobility and the elderly; and an exclusive area for wheelchair users or people with visual impairments, accompanied by a guide dog, with a three-point seat belt, providing safe accessibility during transportation. Also for the comfort of passengers, all twenty buses are air-conditioned.

All the buses have two electronic LED signs, on the front and on the right side, installed at strategic points on the bodies, which contribute to better visibility of the routes.

To further optimize the on-board technology process, the units allow for the installation of micro-cameras, a Wi-Fi system, electromechanical turnstiles and validators.
