Angola continues to be one of Caio`s biggest overseas customers. With the new lot on sale in 2022, the country has a fleet of approximately 700 buses of the brand.
The last 60 units delivered are also part of the Regular Urban Passenger Transport Project (TURP). The sale is the result of a partnership between Caio, the Asperbras Group, Volkswagen, Transdata and Pait Consultoria.
All the Apache Vip buses produced for Angola have a QR Code on each unit giving access to information related to the body, step-by-step videos for maintaining items and access to the Spare Parts Sales System, speeding up requests.
About the Apache VIP
The Apache Vip buses produced are 10,500 mm long, with seats for 66 passengers and front boarding. The spacious interior lounge, characteristic of the fifth generation Apache Vip, has ergonomic seats, air conditioning and windows with barriers to the effects of the sun. Red seats are reserved for people with reduced mobility, PwDs and the elderly. The floor is thermally insulated and dustproof, with a washed sheet coating, which is non-slip and highly resistant.
To maintain biosafety, Apache Vip buses have isolation barriers for the driver and conductor, protecting against viruses and bacteria.
The vehicles have folding doors with electro-pneumatic drive and interlocks, which prevent them from opening unexpectedly during transit, making them safer to transport.
All units are equipped with a retractable step that makes it easier for passengers to get in and out.
LED interior lighting, an electromechanical turnstile and capability for an electronic ticketing system complete the bus` distinctive features. Electronic itineraries, also in LED, have been installed at strategic points on the body so that passengers have better visibility.
The Apache Vip buses were built on Volksbus chassis model EOD 17.230, with a 5,900 mm wheelbase, EURO III engine and mechanical gearbox.
