Fleet renewal increases Caio`s participation in the capital city of Paraná

2019-04-11 For the renewal of the Curitiba fleet, 134 new vehicles were acquired by the companies Viação Cidade Sorriso, Auto Viação Redentor, Auto Viação Santo Antônio and Viação Tamandaré, produced by Caio Induscar, the largest manufacturer of urban car bodies in Brazil.

Curitiba`s municipal fleet renewal program provided the Caio brand with an increase in its share of the transportation market in the capital of Paraná.

According to Caio`s industrial director, Mr. Maurício Lourenço da Cunha: ``This moment significantly represents Caio`s trajectory in the market of the capital city of Paraná, which is a parameter for many municipalities in relation to the public transportation system, just as our company is for the mobility sector. We accept the challenge and our collaborators are committed to developing vehicles, with exclusive items to meet the transportation of Curitiba, offering products with quality, innovation and durability``.

Caio, which has collaborated for more than seven decades in a decisive way for the evolution of public transport, has supplied the Millennium body, in its standard and articulated versions, Millennium BRT (Articulated, Bi-articulated and Super-articulated), in addition to Apache Vip, the country`s best-selling urban vehicle.

All the projects and versions of the cars meet the requirements of the URBS Technical Norms, the managing body that governs the public transportation in the city of Curitiba, such as the bi-articulated front engine and the super-articulated 21 meters, prepared for the dimensions of the tube stations.

The buses are monitored by cameras, two spaces for wheelchairs, sound signals and visual closing of the doors, with braille information for the visually impaired. LED internal illumination and voice message when requesting a wheelchair user to stop.

The Curitiba fleet renewal program began in 2017 and so far, 103 buses have been delivered. The rest of the units must be delivered this April.
