CIRCULAR SANTA LUZIA EXPANDS FLEET IN SÃO JOSÉ DO RIO PRETO WITH 15 CAIO APACHE VIP BUSES

2024-10-17 Caio, a manufacturer of urban buses, produced 15 units of the Apache Vip V model for the public transport service provider Circular Santa Luzia in São José do Rio Preto, state of SP.

This fleet expansion provided the municipality with a more sustainable and efficient transportation option, combining the durability of the bodywork with Euro VI engine technology, adopted in Brazil to reduce pollutant emissions.

The buses were built on a Mercedes-Benz OF-1721/59 chassis, measuring 12,500 mm in length, with a total capacity of 90 people, including 32 seated passengers, 57 standing, and one driver.

All units are 100% accessible, featuring automatic lifts at the central door, reserved seats for people with disabilities (PWD), reduced mobility, and seniors, in addition to space for wheelchairs and visually impaired individuals accompanied by guide dogs.

The expansive bus cabin provides comfort for passengers, featuring plush, ergonomic seating, air conditioning, and tinted windows equipped with sun barrier technology.

Notable onboard technologies include LED lighting in the cabin and above the steps, a reverse alarm with night dimming; USB charging ports, a front electronic destination display; provisions for microcameras, and Wi-Fi system. They are also provided with electromechanical turnstile for installation of ticket validators.
