Caio Induscar sponsors exhibitions of the Second Pinacoteca of the State of São Paulo, inaugurated in Botucatu

2019-08-06 On last Friday night, August 2nd, the inauguration ceremony of the Pinacoteca Fórum das Artes was held, located in the building of the former Courthouse, a project authored by Ramos de Azevedo who is the main icon of 20th century architecture, and given by the State Government to Botucatu for cultural and educational purposes.

The event was attended by the mayor of Botucatu, Mario Eduardo Pardini; the coordinator of the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy of the State of São Paulo, Antonio Lessa; the CEO of Pinacoteca de São Paulo, Jochen Volz; city councilmen, city secretaries, authorities and sponsors. Caio Induscar, a bus manufacturer, as sponsor was represented by the directors Maurício Lourenço da Cunha and Simonetta Pucciarini Cunha.

The Pinacoteca Fórum das Artes is the first outside the state capital and the second in the state of São Paulo. The space is a cultural complex linked to the Municipal Secretariat of Culture, which will host the MAC - Itajahy Martins Museum of Contemporary Art, exhibitions by the Pinacoteca de São Paulo and other similar institutions, and temporary exhibitions by local artists. In the attached building is the Galeria Fórum das Artes, which will host Contemporary Art projects.

To enable the opening of the Pinacoteca, the AFA - Forum Arts Association, had a project approved by the Rouanet Tax Incentive Law, which makes it possible to involve the private sector in this large cultural enterprise, with financial contributions discounted from the income tax due.

Caio Induscar is one of the sponsoring companies through the Incentive Law. According to its industrial director, Mauricio Cunha “It is a great pleasure to be able to participate and support this important project for the city of Botucatu and the region. More Partnerships

According to the Estate Director of the Pinacoteca Fórum das Artes, Claudia Bassetto, the contribution of Caio Induscar was fundamental to make the exhibitions possible at the venue. ``In addition, the company also proved to be even more of a partner of Pinacoteca de Botucatu, adopting the local plaza for landscaping maintenance, which has already become one of the postcards of the city,`` he emphasized.

Open Exhibitions

From August 3, the Pinacoteca Fórum das Artes was opened to the public with the exhibition “Figure and modernity”, by the French sculptor Auguste Rodin.
On the occasion, the MAC Itajahy Martins permanent headquarters was also reopened, with exhibitions:
• “Dialogues in context”, with works of his own collection;
• “Memorial Itajahy Martins”, which features engravings and objects from the founder, donated by the artist and family;
• “The House: light & color games”, by Amélia Piza, Botucatu artist, the first director of MAC;

In the Galeria Fórum das Artes is the exhibition “Graphic Connection”, with prints donated by Instituto Itaú Cultural.
