The Caio Millennium BRT articulated bus is chosen the BRT in Belém

2016-07-12 The new generation Millennium BRT articulated bus from Caio Induscar was chosen for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system of Belém, the first of its kind in northern Brazil. The system went into operation this July and, in the first stage of the project, will transport passengers from the Mangueirão Stadium station to the São Brás station, which will eventually be linked to Icoaraci.

The 15 buses acquired in the first phase will be operated by four companies of the transportation system of the city of Belém: Belém Rio, Nova Marambaia, Rio Guamá and Vialoc.

The modern BRT system in Belém will have elevated stations and the configuration of the articulated Millennium BRT model meets all of the necessary requirements, with pneumatically-operated doors, electronic LED routing displays, seats reserved for the elderly, access ramps and exclusive spaces destined for people with special needs.

Focusing on passenger comfort, the buses have fully-upholstered seats, air conditioning as a standard item, tinted glass for thermal comfort, and installed technology such as Wi-Fi and a monitoring system.

With a length of 18.60 meters, the Millennium buses have the capacity to carry 49 seated passengers and a maximum capacity load of 134 people.
