CAIO CELEBRATES 79 YEARS WITH A SOLID LEGACY AND A PROMISING FUTURE
2025-01-06On December 19, Caio celebrated 79 years of history and tradition. Since 1945, Caio has built a remarkable trajectory, standing out as a leader in the urban bus market, a reference in employability, committed to social responsibility and mobility solutions.
Since its inception, Caio has consolidated its position as the leading national manufacturer in the urban bus segment. The company has achieved an average annual share of 55% in the production of urban buses in Brazil over the last nine years. With manufacturing units in Botucatu and Barra Bonita, its production capacity is approximately 50 units a day, offering a robust portfolio that includes urban buses (front-engine, rear-engine and articulated), midis, micros, minis and charters, as well as a complete mix of solutions and personalized service.
Caio is the parent brand of a Group that has been in existence for 24 years and is made up of several companies that meet the demands of internal and external customers in different segments. These include: Busscar (manufacturer of buses), Fiberbus (specializing in fiber/composite parts), Inbrasp (plastic parts), Tecglass (glass, foams, doors and windows), Caio Barra Bonita (subsidiary manufacturing unit), Copperbuss (electrical harnesses) and the Caio Busscar Technical Center (technical assistance, parts sales and training).
These companies make up the Caio Group, which contributes significantly to the social and economic development of the regions where it operates, currently employing more than 7,000 direct employees, 60% of whom are Caio employees.
Committed to ecological solutions, Caio has a sector dedicated to sustainable mobility, investing in the production of electric buses and other alternative energies. In the last three years, the company has achieved a share of more than 80% in the manufacture of electric buses in Brazil, according to RENAVAM [National Motor Vehicle Register] data.
