Rio de Janeiro acquires Mondego buses from Caio Induscar

2013-08-19 The wonderful city of Rio de Janeiro is upgrading its fleet of buses to further improve the city’s public transport and passenger satisfaction.

To achieve this, carioca companies have chosen bus builder Caio Induscar to perform this vehicle upgrade. From its range of products, the Mondego L, known for its quality and strength, will replace the older buses.

In total, 41 new units will be delivered to companies in the city. These vehicles will serve Rio’s south zone. They come with a low floor, easing mobility for all users, air conditioning, and fully cushioned injection moulded seats providing passenger comfort; electronic itinerary, aiding route information visibility; LED illumination making the passenger saloon brighter.

The bodies are built on a Mercedes-Benz chassis 12,300mm long and 2,500mm wide with a capacity to carry 36 seated and 43 standing passengers and one passenger with special needs.

It is an honour for Caio Induscar to be part of Public Transport in Rio de Janeiro.
