Caio Induscar develops Rehabilitation and Social Inclusion Program
2015-10-16Caio Induscar invests in its pledge to society by developing activities and projects for boosting human self-esteem. The company in partnership with INSS, has achieved extremely satisfying results with their Rehabilitation and Social Inclusion Program.
The program consists of encouraging and rehabilitating workers retired by the INSS, who are unable to continue their previous activities, and relocating them in new activities.
The worker is trained, even during their off work period, to perform a new activity in the company. “A team consisting of a doctor, psychologist, psychiatrist, and physiotherapist work so that the off-work worker is physically, emotionally and professionally rehabilitated”, explains social assistant Silvania Giandoni.
One example of the success of this project is with Vanderson Calixto, a worker who was retired due to progressive sight loss due to developing keratoconus, a disease which affects image perception, distorting and blurring them.
The worker retired from the welding team, is being trained in the purchasing department. “It is a great opportunity for me, as I am only 28 years old, and now after this new opening offered to me by Caio, I am not thinking of ending my working life so early. I have taken many courses and my new work colleagues have made it so that my adaptation was fast. I thank them for their belief in me”, commented Vanderson.
Another story showing the success of the project is with a worker from the Upholstery Team, Guilherme Escobar Vernini, who due to an accident resulting in the loss of the annular distal phalanx in the right hand, was retired from his duties in the Upholstery Group.
“The loss of pincer movement and not having the same strength in my hand, meant I had to take time off as my old job needed these functions. During this period, I took several courses which opened new professional horizons to me and gave me the confidence to return to work”, said the worker. Today, in the Upholstery group, he is responsible for seat back coverings in the BRT bus.
Caio Human Resources Director, Simonetta Pucciarini da Cunha, explains that an analysis is made during the rehabilitation process, to relocate the worker in an area where he is able to develop and learn a new profession. “It is very satisfying to see the workers retrained in new areas, professionally maturing, returning to have dreams and projects for life”, she concluded.
For Caio Induscar, it is fundamental to value and work together for the professional improvement of their workers and highly prize social responsibility projects.
