With the purchase of 30 new buses, fifth-generation Apache Vip model, BluMob Concessionária de Transporte Urbano renewed the public transport system in the city of Blumenau, state of Santa Catarina.

Blumenau is known in Brazil as one of the cities with the greatest German influence in its culture and history. With approximately 362 thousand inhabitants, the municipality has strong European characteristics, enchanting local and foreign visitors with its architecture, gastronomy, nature, industries and festivities.

Jardel Stadlober, sales representative of Caio in the Curitiba region, shares the feedback received after delivering the vehicles, highlighting that it was gratifying to observe client satisfaction in their first purchase of Caio products. According to Mr. Maurício, Director of Garage and Operations at Blumob, “We were positively surprised by the structure and quality of the products, especially the simplicity and easy maintenance and operation.”

About the buses

These models accommodate up to 92 passengers, 29 sitting and 61 standing, one ticket collector and one driver. The vehicles were assembled on Mercedes-Benz OF-1721/59 chassis, are 12.800 mm long and equipped with Euro VI technology, adopted in the country to reduce emissions of pollutants.

With front engine and boarding, the vehicles have been equipped with three bellows-type doors, located on the right side of the body, in front, mid and rear positions. All of them provide electropneumatic drive and emergency system.

Seats are injection-molded and padded and have headrests and armrests; six of them are reserved for people with disabilities (PcD), reduced mobility, and the elderly.

Another accessibility item is the automatic lift, installed in the mid door, and the exclusive space for wheelchair users or people visually impaired, accompanied by a service dog.

Onboard technologies in these models include electromechanical turnstiles, USB ports, reverse gear alarm with night tone attenuator, points for installation of micro cameras and ticket validator, preparation for Wi-Fi and GPS systems, and LED lighting into the passenger compartment and on the steps, thus making access to bus easier.

In addition, two electronic itinerary LED displays have been installed, which are located on the front and right side of the body.
