RÁPIDO SUMARÉ EXPANDS ITS FLEET AND PUTS IT INTO CIRCULATION 21 APACHE VIP CAIO, IN THE CITY OF PIRACICABA

2024-10-16 Rápido Sumaré has expanded its fleet with the acquisition of 21 new fifth-generation Apache Vip city buses, best sellers in Brazil and Latin America, which will be used for public transportation in Piracicaba, a city of approximately 424,000 inhabitants in the state of São Paulo, known as the ``City of Waters`` and famous for its river, which provides a welcoming atmosphere.

All buses accommodate up to 82 passengers, 42 sitting and 39 standing, and one driver. The vehicles were assembled on Iveco 17-280 chassis, are 12,570 mm long and equipped with Euro VI technology, adopted in the country to reduce emissions of pollutants.

The front-boarding models were equipped with three pneumatically operated folding doors, located on the right side of the body, in front, mid and rear positions. An emergency device has been installed at the boarding door that can be activated in the event of an eventuality.
For comfort and accessibility during transportation, the upholstered injected seats are equipped with headrests. The indoor lounge has six seats reserved for people with disabilities (PwD), reduced mobility and the elderly, and an exclusive space for wheelchair users or people with visual impairments accompanied by a guide dog. In addition, a semi-automatic elevator has been installed at the central door to facilitate access to the bus.

The vehicles also feature on-board technologies such as a reversing alarm with night attenuator; USB sockets, two electronic itineraries located on the front and right side of the buses; LED lighting in the interior hall and in the door box, above the steps and preparation for micro cameras and a Wi-Fi system. They are also provided with electromechanical turnstile for installation of ticket validators.
