FOUR ELECTRIC BUSES WERE DELIVERED BY CAIO TO THE CITY OF PORTO ALEGRE (RS)

2024-04-25 Caio, the largest manufacturer of electric buses in Brazil and South America, delivered on Tuesday, April 23rd, during a cocktail event, four complete electric urban buses, eMillennium model, low-floor, to the company Sudeste Transportes Coletivos Ltda., from Porto Alegre, RS.

Present at the event were the industrial vice president of Caio, Mr. Maurício Lourenço da Cunha, Mr. José Gildo Vendramini (Zezinho), national sales manager of Caio, Mayor Sebastião Melo, transportation secretary, president of EPTC, authorities, entrepreneurs from Sudeste company and other companies, representatives from Eletra, MBB/Mecasul, e WEG.

The product is developed with 100% Brazilian technology, with electric traction and electrification from Eletra, motor and batteries from Weg, and Mercedes-Benz 0500-U platform kit, prepared for electric operation.

In addition to being modern, with high technology and sustainable, the new buses aim to provide comfort and quieter trips, fulfilling the primary objective of transporting passengers with comfort, quality, and safety, as well as contributing to the reduction of energy sources, less polluting and less greenhouse gas generators, in the urban public transport fleet in the city of Porto Alegre.

The mayor, the transportation secretary, and the owners of Sudeste believed in Caio`s proposal and its partners, investing in the decarbonized fleet, as advocated by the law for the benefit of public health. This will bring a reduction in pollutants that affect the population and also combat noise pollution.

José Gildo Vendramini (Zezinho), national sales manager of Caio, comments: ``The project is a great opportunity for the country to have sustainable urban buses, providing efficient and less polluting transportation, meeting the new trends in urban mobility.``

The vehicles are 12,150 mm long and have a total capacity for 71 people.

Aiming for passenger comfort during trips, the buses are equipped with air conditioning, comfortable seats, glued windows, and USB outlets on the sides. For drivers, they have items that provide comfort, such as hydraulic seat, with headrest, curtain on the window, partition, and multiplex keyboard, which facilitates the control of various bus items.

Thinking about everyone`s safety, the units are also equipped with sensors, alarms, and rear-view cameras, as well as a door blocker, which prevents it from opening when the vehicle is in motion. Additionally, they have four electronic itineraries spread across the vehicles, a panel with a digital speed indicator, and preparation for a Wi-Fi system and monitors. They also have details as per the determination and requirements of the EPTC law of Porto Alegre.
