ITAMARACÁ RECEIVES 24 UNITS OF THE APACHE VIP MODEL FOR RECIFE (PE)

2024-03-28 The new buses will serve the metropolitan region of Recife, PE, operating on the North South Corridor (Recife, Olinda, Paulista, Abreu e Lima, Igarassu, Itapissuma and Itamaracá) and are the best-selling model from Caio, Brazil`s largest manufacturer of urban buses.

There are two lots, with different configurations: 14 units, with Volkswagen 17.260 Euro VI chassis; and 10 units with Mercedes-Benz OF-1721 chassis.

With a view to everyone`s comfort and convenience during journeys, the buses have semi-upholstered seats for passengers and hydraulic seats with headrests and lateral displacement for the drivers. With everyone`s safety in mind, they are also equipped with bellows-type doors, with pneumatic drive and locks, which prevent them from opening unexpectedly during the journey.

All the vehicles purchased are fully accessible, equipped with an elevator and seats for people with disabilities (PwD), reduced mobility, and the elderly, as well as a box for wheelchair users and visually impaired people accompanied by a guide dog.

The units have LED lighting, an air conditioning system and windows with four movable panes, fixed with rubber and tinted, providing greater thermal comfort in the inside.

They also have four LED electronic displays, located at specific points on the bodies. On-board technology items are found in the vehicles, such as preparation for the installation of micro-cameras, providing more security for passengers, as well as an electromechanical turnstile and electronic validator.
