CAIO PRESENTS THE FIRST UNIT OF THE 15-METER ELECTRIC BUS OF GOIÂNIA

2024-03-11 An event held on March 07 marked the presentation of the first of five units of entirely electric buses purchased by the company HP Transportes Coletivos Ltda, whereas the company Rápido Araguaia purchased five other units. Both companies are traditional Caio’s clients from the State of Goiás.

The model, manufactured by Caio, has an eMillennium bodyshell, a Scania electrical platform set, an Eletra electrical traction, a WEG motor and battery, and Songs air-conditioning. It is the first 15-meter high-floor electric bus of the country.

In the presentation event, held at Eletra’s facility, in São Paulo, authorities from Goiânia and from the State of Goiás were present: mayor of Goiânia, Rogério Oliveira da Cruz; the municipal secretary of infrastructure, Denes Pereira Alves; the undersecretary of public transport policies of the State of Goiás, Miguel Ângelo Pricinote; Francisco Caldas, president of Metrobus of the Government of the State of Goiás; Francisco Tarcísio Ribeiro de Abreu, president of CMTC; the clients who purchased the buses: Edmundo de Carvalho Pinheiro, president of HP Transportes; Indiara Ferreira, superintendent director of HP; in addition to the representatives of Caio, Eletra, Scania, Weg, and Songs (the list of present members is attached).

According to the mayor of the capital of Goiás, Rogério Oliveira Cruz, “the present bus is a landmark that represents the conquest of an extremely important project for the capital and the metropolitan region; it is a model of public transport that must be taken to other cities in the country.”
For Caio’s president, Paulo Ruas, “it is an honor to serve traditional clients and to put the first 15-meter high-floor electric bus in the country on the streets of Goiânia.”

The client Edmundo de Carvalho Pinheiro, president of HP Transportes, says that “the partnership is crucial for the promotion of this project of a complete electrical bus as an alignment that occurs among companies that are part of this initiative.”

The meeting has been planned by Caio’s national sales manager, José Gildo Vendramini (Zezinho), with the cooperation of Eletra’s executive director, Ieda Maria A. Oliveira, as well as Scania’s business development director, Marcelo Gallão, and Caio Group’s marketing and communication manager, Tânia Pires de Souza. “We are glad to contribute to the results of such an innovative project as this one”, concludes Zezinho from Caio.

About the purchased buses
The buses that will circulate in Goiânia are padrón, with 15,000mm in length, and total capacity for 101 people.
All vehicles purchased reckon on full accessibility, and are equipped with a lift, and seats designed for disabled people, people with restricted mobility, and the elderly, as well as a box for wheelchair users.
The buses have LED lighting, air-conditioning systems, and windows with fixed total windows bonded in smoked color, providing greater thermal comfort in the interior part.
They also count on four electronic itineraries in LED, located at specific points of the bodyshell. Embedded technology items are found in the vehicles, such as the Multiplex system, which indicates to the driver possible flaws in the electrical system of the buses, internal monitoring cameras, providing more safety to the passengers, and electronic turnstiles. Moreover, the units are prepared to receive a radio communicator, Wi-Fi validator, and GPS.
Aiming at the comfort and ease of all passengers during trips, the buses have fully upholstered seats for all passengers.
Considering everyone’s safety, the buses are also equipped with wraparound doors, which count on electrical triggering and prevent the unexpected opening of the doors during the route, as well as a rear camera, ensuring safer maneuvers.
