Caio Induscar will produce more units to Caminho da Escola Program

2013-01-29 With the new bid for school buses of the Caminho da Escola Program, Caio Induscar expects to produce over 2,600 units in a partnership with Mercedes-Benz, to be delivered during 2013.

The model manufactured by Caio Induscar is the Foz Super, which, for months, were designed, tested and approved, in several parts of the country, under the harshest conditions in sites of difficult access, in a partnership with FNDE/MEC directors and engineers. Among its main differentials are the door blockage and a configuration prepared to run on the most diverse types of ground travelled by the rural school buses. It also has items of accessibility, such as wheelchair access, reserved seats and some units with lifts, facilitating even more the handicapped people access.

The vehicles are also equipped with electronic chronotacograph and GPS, seats with two-point seat belt, and the reserved seats with four-point seat belt, among other pieces of equipment to make the public transport safer.

About the Caminho da Escola Programa

It is an initiative promoted by the Federal Government, the Education Ministry, through FNDE (Educational Development National Fund), along with Inmetro, to take school transport to rural areas throughout the country.

The objective is the renewal of the school buses fleet in order to assure for students a safer transport in difficult roads.

Each year, the Government has increased the investment to enlarge the program, helping the combat to rural school drop-out.
