2015-05-11With the aim of renewing its fleet, San Isidro Transport Company SRL, helped by a Paraguayan Government grant to acquire air conditioned buses, signed an agreement with Caio Induscar to produce 60 urban Apache VIP buses.
The capital’s transport system operates old-fashioned buses, motivating the government to offer incentives for replacing the fleet with modern models and the latest generation embarkation technology.
The urban Apache VIP buses will form part of transport operations in the capital Asuncion, where the central metropolitan region has around 700,000 inhabitants. Having been one of the most important cities in the country during the Spanish colonisation period, the Paraguayan capital has a rich historical centre. The region, surrounded by hills, has many roads in difficult terrains and hundreds of avenues which are in a reurbanisation phase.
With a carrying capacity of 30 seated passengers, including a wheelchair user (in orders with an elevator), the Apache VIP was chosen by San Isidro due to its modern design, low cost, ease of maintenance, and robustness.
Equipped with hot and cold air conditioning, the model also has hydraulic driver’s seat, fixed smoked glass windows, two emergency windows on each side of the vehicle, two turnstiles, electronic itineraries, and are prepared for future GPS and Wi-Fi installation.
On the 22nd of April the owners of San Isidro, accompanied by Caio Paraguay’s representative, visited Caio Induscar to inspect finished buses and look over the Botucatu factory. The occasion was marked by the symbolic handing over of keys for the finished buses by Sr. Maurício Cunha, Caio Induscar’s Industrial Director.
The partnership with San Isidro, which has been in the sector for more than 30 years, and whose mission is to transport people in safety and comfort, reinforces the confidence which the Paraguayan market has in Caio Induscar.
