Caio Induscar produces hybrid bus

2013-02-21 Part of Caio Induscar’s vision is to provide new transport solutions taking part in special projects which design buses which use alternative energy sources, thus contributing to improvements for large cities.

The bus builder is producing bodies for hybrid vehicles fabricated by Volvo Brazil. The vehicle has two motors, one diesel and one electric, which gives up to a 35% fuel economy, reaching a 90% reduction in atmospheric pollutants, in relation to the Euro 3 models. The hybrid is also equipped with computerized boarding and automatic ticket dispenser control.

The body is being fabricated based on the Millennium BRT, low floor, 13 metre long model; it has a carrying capacity of up to 93 passengers, and is designed to work in any urban system. The bus has injection moulded seats, made by the same bus builder and a Multiplex system aiding the job of the driver.
