JTP TRANSPORTES RENEWS THEIR BUS FLEET IN PORTO VELHO WITH CAIO’S APACHE VIP UNITS

2023-12-22 The public passenger transport company, JTP Transportes, has added Caio’s Apache Vip front-engine urban bus model to its fleet.

The company has acquired 47 units that will be put into operation in the city of Porto Velho, capital of the state of Rondônia, which has around 500,000 inhabitants. The chassis on which the Apache Vip are being built meet the Proconve P8/EURO VI gas emission reduction standard and are Mercedes-Benz.

José Gildo Rego Vendramini, sales representative at Caio, explains the importance of these acquisitions: ``The new buses are part of the plan to modernize the city`s public transport. They are modern, safe and comfortable vehicles. It`s a great honor for us at Caio to have JTP as a customer, since it`s the first time they`ve bought 0km vehicles from our brand.``

For the Mayor of Porto Velho, Mr. Hildon Chaves, Porto Velho will have the newest fleet of any Brazilian capital with the arrival of these buses. ``Today we are just a few steps away from having the newest fleet in Brazil, which is an extraordinary step forward. As mayor, I try to take care of our city with care and responsibility and to have quality buses, with plugs to charge cell phones, wi-fi, security cameras and air conditioning``.

Federal deputy Maurício Carvalho was delighted to see the new buses being produced at Caio up close. ``Congratulations to the City Hall, of which I was proud to be deputy mayor, and it`s nice to see the mayor honoring the people of our city.``

About Apache VIP

The Apache Vip buses purchased have front boarding and are divided into two types of chassis: forty-three 17-ton chassis were manufactured, with capacity for 84 people, plus four 15-ton chassis, which have capacity for 71 people on average, depending on the layout of the interior of each model. With lengths of 12,735 mm and 11,350 mm respectively, the buses have been designed to optimize operation.

LED lighting, an air conditioning system and full-glazed tinted windows provide greater thermal comfort in the interior lounge. The seats are upholstered and have units reserved for people with disabilities (PwD), reduced mobility and the elderly. Throughout the interior there are USB plug points for recharging mobile devices.

To complete accessibility, the vehicles are equipped with an elevator and an exclusive area for wheelchair users or the visually impaired, accompanied by a guide dog.

All the units produced also have a multiplex system, which points out possible faults in the vehicle`s electrical system to the driver, aiming to provide increased safety.

Apache Vip vehicles leave the factory prepared for the installation of internal and external microcameras, a Wi-Fi system, GPS receiver, radio, electronic validators and turnstiles.

For better information visualization, the vehicles have three electronic itineraries, located at specific points on the body. The audible warning of the next stop is combined with the electronic validator, resulting in greater safety during the journey.
