TRANSPORTE COLETIVO GLÓRIA RENEWS ITS FLEET IN CURITIBA, WITH CAIO MILLENNIUM
2024-12-13Transporte Coletivo Glória, part of the Gulin Group, has acquired 40 Caio urban bus models, 24 of which are Millennium (ligeirinho [fast model]); six Articulated Millennium (express) and ten Articulated Millennium (interchangeable), which will renew the operator`s fleet in Curitiba (PR).

The company is already taking delivery of Articulated Millennium (interchangeable) and Articulated (express) units.
About the Articulated Millennium Buses (interchangeable)
The ten Articulated Millennium (interchangeable) buses were built on high-floor Mercedes-Benz O-500 MA chassis, 18,700 mm long, with automatic gearbox, rear engine and Euro VI technology, adopted in the country to reduce pollutant emissions.
Four of these units have a total capacity of up to 131 passengers, 30 seated, 100 standing and one driver, and have seven folding doors: four on the right (front, rear and two central) and three central on the left, all with electro-pneumatic drive, voice announcer and emergency valves, in accordance with URBS regulations.
The remaining six units have a total capacity of up to 130 passengers, including 39 seated, 90 standing and a driver, and are equipped with four right-side folding doors (front, rear and two central), all with electro-pneumatic drive, voice announcer and emergency valves.
The seats are upholstered, with headrests and armrests. Ensuring accessibility in transportation, the vehicles have two spaces for wheelchair users, a seat designed for obese people and six seats reserved for people with disabilities (PwD), reduced mobility and the elderly, as well as electro-pneumatic ramps and a semi-automatic hydraulic elevator on the doors.
Modern, the Millennium buses have multiplex keypads, a reverse gear alarm with night attenuator, USB and USB-C sockets in the seats and balusters, six electronic routes, an electronic turnstile, internal LED lighting in the passenger compartment and in the door box above the steps and preparation for a monitoring system and micro cameras.
About the Articulated Millennium Buses (express)
The Articulated Millennium (express) buses are 20,645 mm long and can carry up to 174 passengers, including 38 seated, 135 standing and a driver. These vehicles were built on Mercedes-Benz O-500 MDA chassis, also with a high floor, rear engine and Euro VI technology.
With front boarding, the buses have six folding doors: four on the right (front, rear and two center) and two pantograph doors on the left (center and rear). All the doors have an electro-pneumatic drive, voice announcer and emergency valves, in accordance with URBS regulations.
The seats follow the same configuration as the interchangeable Millennium models, with six seats reserved for people with disabilities (PwD), reduced mobility and the elderly, as well as mobile electro-pneumatic ramps. The technologies also follow the pattern of the other model and include a traffic light sensor.
