VIAÇÃO PENDOTIBA ADDS MORE THAN 100 CAIO BUSES TO ITS FLEET

2023-07-26
In recent months, Viação Pendotiba has made important acquisitions of Caio brand products, adding to its fleet zero km buses with state-of-the-art technology, safe, robust, comfortable and with total accessibility, benefiting the population of Rio de Janeiro.
With a 100% Caio fleet, Pendotiba has been operating for over 56 years in public passenger transport in Niterói, a city located in the Metropolitan Region of Rio de Janeiro.
The more than 100 units sold to the company are the Apache Vip model, a front-engined city bus, and the Millennium model, a rear-engined city bus, ideal for operating in large cities and exclusive corridors.
The vehicles are in operation on the BHS (Bus of High Level of Service) road corridor, which runs through 12 neighborhoods in the city`s Oceanic Region. All the buses follow the light green color pattern characteristic of Consórcio Transoceânico, of which Pendotiba is a member.
About Millennium
The Millennium low-floor buses produced for Pendotiba have doors on both sides at sidewalk level, making it easier for passengers to board and disembark. Double boarding makes it possible to operate both on the Transoceanic road corridor and on normal roads, where passengers board and disembark through the vehicle`s right-hand door. In the exclusive corridor for public transport, passengers can only get on and off the buses at the stations, through the doors on the left.
The Millennium is 100% accessible, allowing people with special needs safe access to the vehicle`s interior. They also have exclusive seats for passengers with reduced mobility and the elderly.
All the units offer passengers comfort and convenience, with air conditioning, fully upholstered seats, USB ports for charging mobile devices and monitors for broadcast television. They also have a fleet management system and wireless stop request.
About the Apache VIP
All Apache Vip units produced for the customer have a semi-automatic elevator, space for wheelchair users and seats for people with disabilities (PwD), reduced mobility and the elderly, to ensure total accessibility.
The passenger seats are fully upholstered and ergonomic. Air conditioning and tinted windows with solar barriers provide optimum thermal comfort.
Technology is also always present in the buses manufactured by Caio. USB sockets, positioned in the interior lounge, are easily accessible to passengers for recharging mobile devices.
There is also capability for a Wi-Fi system, electromechanical turnstiles, micro-cameras and electronic validator. To ensure better visibility of the lines, electronic LED itineraries are located at different points on the body.
