Pernambuco receives 100 Articulated Millennium BRT’s

2014-06-13 Pernambuco, the fifth state to have the BRT system, is receiving one hundred articulated Millennium BRT buses from bus builder Caio Induscar, to run on their East-West corridor operated by Mobibrasil through its companies CRT – City of Recife Transport and RME – Metropolitan Bus Station.

These vehicles are built on a Scania chassis, are 19 metres long and can carry 150 passengers, 41 seated, 108 standing, and one wheelchair user. They are fitted with a movable ramp and elevator to improve accessibility, air conditioning, smoked glass fixed side windows, and semi-cushioned injected passenger seats, increasing traveller comfort. They also have a multiplex system, boarding computer, and cctv, as well as an automatic gearbox and rear motor – both new to the city.

During the World Cup, they will operate on a special route between Central Recife and the Pernambuco Arena.

Caio Induscar are proud to contribute to improving public transport in large cities.
