Part of the batch of 200 Apache VIP buses will be shipped to Angola in December

2022-12-02 Caio sold 200 units of the Apache Vip generation five to Angola and has the shipment of part of the units scheduled for the first half of December 2022, through the Port of Paranaguá.

Angola, one of Caio`s biggest overseas customers, has approximately 500 branded buses in its fleet. Sold in 2022, the new batch of 200 units refers to the five-generation Apache Vip model, Caio`s latest release for front- engine chassis.
The first 85 units go to Angola in the first half of December via Port of Paranaguá, on a journey lasting from 10 to 13 days.
Klaus Von Winckler, Export Regional Sales Caio Overseas and Middle East, points out: “Like the other Caio buses already delivered to the country, the new vehicles are also part of the Regular Urban Passenger Transport Project (Transporte Urbano Regular de Passageiros - TURP). The sale is result of a partnership between Caio, Asperbras Group, Volkswagen, Transdata and Pait Consultoria”.
Ivo Belucci, Caio`s sales manager for the foreign market, adds: “We have established a relationship of mutual trust with our business partners and customers, which is why we always offer high-performance products in day-to-day operations”.
A differential of the Apache Vip produced for Angola is a QR Code on each unit, which provides information about the bodywork, videos with step-by-step for maintenance of items and access to the Spare Parts Sales System, expediting requests.

About the Apache VIP
The Apache Vip produced have 10,500 mm, capacity for 66 passengers and front boarding. The spacious interior hall, characteristic of the Apache Vip generation five, has ergonomic armchairs, air conditioning and glass windows with barriers to solar effects. Red armchairs are reserved for people with reduced mobility, PcD and the elderly.
The floor has thermal insulation and against dust, with engraved sheet metal coating, non-slip and high-resistance material.

To maintain biosecurity, the Apache Vip have isolation barriers for the driver and collector, protecting against viruses and bacteria

The vehicles have bellows-type doors with electro-pneumatic activation and blockers, which prevent unexpected opening during the journey, providing more security during transport.
All units are equipped with a retractable step that facilitates passenger entry and exit.
Internal lighting in LED, electromechanical turnstile and preparation for an electronic ticketing system complete the buses differentials. Electronic itineraries, also in LED, were installed at strategic points on the bodywork so that passengers have better visibility.

The Apache Vip were built on a Volksbus model EOD 17,230 chassis, with a wheelbase of 5,900 mm, EURO III engine and mechanical gearbox.
