Caio Induscar supplies 496 buses for HP-ITA Consortium for the Federal District

2014-01-29 Caio Induscar, together with Mercedes Benz Brazil, is producing an order of 496 buses to meet Federal District public transport needs.

The buses were purchased by our client HP-ITA Consortium who won the bid for Basin 3. These vehicles will serve the Bandeirante, Samambaia, Riacho Fundo I & II, and Recanto das Emas hub.

From this total, 399 buses are Apache VIP’s, which are 12,690 mm long, 2,500 mm wide, can carry 42 seated and 37 standing passengers, and one wheelchair passenger, an elevator guaranteeing accessibility for all passengers, ergonomic cushioned seats with headrests, hydraulic driver and conductor seats, Taraflex antislip floor, smoked glass, reducing sun glare and making journeys more comfortable. We have already delivered around 100 of these to the client.

Another 40 buses will be the Millennium BRT Articulated, which are 18,600 mm long and 2,600 mm wide and can carry 139 passengers including space for a wheelchair. This model was developed after in-depth studies of the BRT system in other locations in the country.

The BRT buses are equipped with air conditioning, elevator helping passenger movement, driver seatbelt with height adjustment providing greater safety and driveability, fixed glued windows and three-piece windshield, facilitating maintenance.

To complete the order, 57 Super Foz buses will be produced, which are 9,600 mm long and 2,500 mm wide.

All vehicles built for the HP-ITA Consortium will have the Multiplex System, which identifies faults in the vehicle operational and electrical system.

Caio Induscar are very proud to have been chosen by the clients to build buses which will make a difference to public transport in Brazil’s administrative capital and the country.
