AUTO VIAÇÃO REDENTOR RENEWS FLEET WITH DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF MILLENNIUM CAIO

2024-12-09 Auto Viação Redentor, with over 65 years of experience in urban transport in Paraná, recently acquired 39 Caio buses, 15 of which are Millennium (ligeirinho [fast model]), two Articulated Millennium (express), 17 Articulated Millennium (interchangeable) and five Articulated Millennium (intercity), thus renewing the company`s fleet in Curitiba.

The capital of Paraná is renowned for its territorial planning, urban infrastructure and a transport system that has served as a model for various regions around the world. In addition, in September this year, BRT celebrated its 50th anniversary in Brazil and the city of Curitiba was the pioneer in implementing this system on Brazilian roads.

Jocemario Dartora, sales representative of Caio in the Curitiba region, points out: “It`s a great pleasure to once again serve this important company of the Gulin Group. Strengthening ties and establishing a partnership through the sale of Caio`s sophisticated Millennium V is beneficial for both parties and for the people of Curitiba”.

Millennium (ligeirinhos) and articulated (express) units have already been delivered.

About Millennium Buses (ligeirinho)

The fifth-generation Millennium buses have automatic gearboxes, are 13 meters long and can carry up to 82 passengers, including 29 seated passengers, 52 standing passengers and a driver. They were built on Volvo B320R 4X2 chassis, with a high floor, rear engine and Euro VI technology, which aims to reduce pollutant emissions.

For easy boarding and alighting, the vehicles have four folding doors: two on the right (front and center) and two on the left, all with electro-pneumatic drive, voice announcer and emergency valves, in accordance with URBS regulations.

The armchairs are upholstered, ergonomic, with headrests and armrests, ensuring comfort and accessibility. The vehicles have two spaces for wheelchair users, seats designed for obese people, three seats reserved for people with disabilities (PwD), reduced mobility and the elderly, as well as mobile electro-pneumatic ramps and a semi-automatic hydraulic elevator in the central door on the right-hand side.

Onboard technologies include LED lighting in the passenger compartment, a reverse gear alarm with night-time attenuator, multiplex keyboard, USB and USB-C sockets in the seats and balusters and preparation for a monitoring system with micro cameras and six speakers. The buses also have five electronic routes: front, right side, left side and two internal ones fixed to the ceiling of the passenger compartment.

About the Articulated Millennium Buses (express)

The Articulated Millennium buses are 20,645 mm long, and have capacity for up to 174 passengers, 38 seating and 135 standing, and one driver. These vehicles were built on Mercedes-Benz O-500 MDA chassis, also with a high floor, rear engine and Euro VI technology.

With front boarding, the buses have six folding doors: four on the right (front, center and rear) and two pantograph doors on the left (center and rear). All the doors have an electro-pneumatic drive, voice announcer and emergency valves, in accordance with URBS regulations.

The seats follow the same configuration as the non-articulated Millennium models, with six seats reserved for people with disabilities (PwD), reduced mobility and the elderly, as well as mobile electro-pneumatic ramps. The technologies also follow the pattern of the other model and include a traffic light sensor.
