Rio de Janeiro receives articulated Caio buses

2014-08-11 The city of Rio de Janeiro is receiving seven Millennium BRT articulated buses from bus builder Caio Induscar, acquired by the Transportes Paranapuan bus company.

The visual style of the BRT buses take their inspiration from the latest and most modern world transport systems, conveying grandeur, originality, and operational speed, and have been developed to fulfil the needs of transport systems from different cities all over the country. The buses will run between Rio de Janeiro’s Galeão International Airport and Barra da Tijuca.

The vehicles have an overall length of 18,600mm with a carrying capacity of 49 seated and 84 standing passengers. They have a mobile ramp for accessibility; a multiplex system, a boarding computer, pneumatic driver’s seat, improving driveability; air conditioning and fully cushioned passenger seats making travel more pleasant. They also have two pantograph doors on the right side and four envelope doors at floor level on the left side.
